Visual artist, performance artist, writer, and activist Carlos Celdran passed away on Tuesday, his family confirmed. He was 46.
“As the family is making arrangements to bring him home, no details can be announced yet. Only that he passed from natural causes,” his wife Tesa posted on Facebook.

He is known for his “Damaso” stunt that hit the Catholic Church, he was a visual artist, writer, performance artist and activist who began his career at 14 as a cartoonist. He graduated with a fine arts degree from the Rhode Island School of Design in the United States in 1996.
Celdran also wants Torre de Manila to be demolished, a high-rise condominium that mars the visual corridors of the Rizal Monument in Luneta Park.
