President Rodrigo Duterte’s plan to link the entire Philippines archipelago with bridges and tunnel is not only a dream, but it can be turned into reality. Once implemented and completed, it will be the greatest engineering achievements of his administration.
Linking major islands using bridges and tunnels is not a fantasy anymore, since it’s been done in another country like the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and Tunnels in the United States, linking Dover, Delaware to Norfolk, Virginia with a distance over water is about 17 miles, plus 2 trips through tunnels that are a mile long.
This bridge and tunnel design can also be constructed in the Philippines to connect the major islands of Luzon, the Visayas, Mindanao and also Palawan.
